Gorilla Tourism in Uganda

Gorilla tourism started in 1993 when the first group of tourists was able to track gorillas in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park. The first group to be successfully trekked by tourist was Mubare Gorilla family located in Buhoma region of the forest. Since then, Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has been able to habituate a number of gorilla families for the purpose of promoting tourism in Uganda.
